I enjoy the process of growing succulent produce to improve my diet by leaps and bounds… But I've found that my endless labor of love may also strengthen me in some surprising ways.
The benefits of gardening are seemingly endless, both mentally and physically. Not only can planting seeds, tilling dirt, and pruning weeds vastly improve your physical health, but it can also improve mental health too. The strong therapeutic value of gardening helps people connect with others, makes us more active, provides better nutrition and a more meaningful quality of life. When we surround ourselves with growing plants, we’re getting more than just “a nice view”. The sensory experience stirs mysterious regenerative processes deep in our bodies and minds.
I encourage you to get outside, get your hands dirty and start gardening – it's the perfect antidote to the rather stressful world we live in today.
